Our Policies

Rental Agreement
To place a reservation, the primary renter must agree to our Rental Agreement, which you can read here.

Use of Premises
Our vacation rental properties may be used for overnight lodging and quiet enjoyment. No parties, weddings, etc. If in doubt, send us an email.

Maximum Occupancy
Maximum overnight occupancy and maximum non-overnight occupancy are established by local ordinances and are strictly enforced.

Children
Children are welcome with the caveat that children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Pools and spas may not be fenced. A Release of Liability is part of our Rental Agreement.

Security Deposit
A $500 Security Deposit ($1,000 for some properties) is collected via major credit card to hold a reservation. The Security Deposit may be retained by Sonoma Valley Escapes to compensate property owners for damages and losses, as outlined in our Rental Agreement. Final settlement of the Security Deposit will be made at the sole discretion of Sonoma Valley Escapes. The "Book With Confidence Guarantee" provided by our reservation system provider, homeaway.com, will pay you 100% of your security deposit if it is wrongfully withheld.

Rent & Tax Deposit
A Rent & Tax Deposit equal to total rent and tax is due 30 days prior to arrival. If the Rent & Tax Deposit is not received 30 days prior to arrival, Sonoma Valley Escapes reserves the right to cancel the reservation and retain the Security Deposit.

Homeaway Reservation Service Fee
We accept online reservations exclusively through the Homeaway.com online system. Among various benefits, Homeway provides a "Book With Confidence Guarantee". Homeaway charges a Service Fee to the traveler when a reservation is placed. The service fee is between 5-12% for most bookings but can be above or below, based on the reservation. Local Taxes
Vacation rental receipts are subject to local tax. Currently, the tax rate is 12%. If tax rate(s) change between date reservation is placed and date guest arrives, guests will be charged/credited amount of change.

Cancellation Refunds
Please let us know as soon as possible by email if you need to cancel.
Our refund policy is:

  • 100% refund for cancellations at least 30 days prior to schedule arrival date.
  • 50% refund for cancellations between 14-30 days prior to scheduled arrival date.
  • 0% refund for no-shows or cancellations within 14 days of scheduled arrival.

Housekeeping
Our vacation rental homes are beautifully furnished, fully equipped, and thoroughly cleaned between bookings. Breakfast and housekeeping are not provided during guest stays.

Check-In and Check-Out
Properties are accessed by combination door locks. Check-in is  3:00 pm. Check-out is 11:00 am. Early check-in is possible by prior arrangement, but can only be confirmed several days prior to arrival.

Pets
Pets are not allowed. Service Animals, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act, are welcome. Please let us know in advance what work or task the dog has been trained to perform.

Smoking
Smoking is not allowed inside vacation rental buildings. Smoking may be allowed outside in designated areas only. Check property listing for details.

Quiet Hours
Sonoma County quiet hours are from 10 pm - 9 am, some properties quiet hours are from 9 pm - 9 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at vacation rentals at all times. Quite hours are strictly enforced.

Parking
Availability of on-site parking varies by property. Check property listing for details.

Expectations Not Met
Guests should notify us immediately during their stay if expectations are not met or if they experience a problem. We can't fix everything immediately, but we'll do our best to solve or mitigate issues as best as we can, provided we've been notified in a timely manner.
